why i work this way.
ideas don’t arrive in one shape
i work across different things because most ideas don’t arrive in one clear shape. sometimes it starts as a sentence, sometimes as an image, sometimes as a conversation that stays in my head longer than expected. for me, writing, visuals, concept and coordination are not separate worlds. they are different ways of getting closer to the same story.
story comes before format
story is usually where i begin. before thinking about the format, i want to understand what something is really about, who it is for, and why it should exist. when that is clear, the rest starts to make more sense. the design, the words, the timing, the people involved. without that, a project can look finished, but still feel empty.
context changes everything
language and context also shape the way i work. moving between Dutch, English, Turkish, German, French and different cultural spaces has taught me that the same idea can land very differently depending on who receives it. that is why i try to listen first, before making too many assumptions. not everything needs to be louder. sometimes it just needs to be understood better.
people are the centre
in the end, i care most about people. not as a theme, but as the reason behind the work. i like projects where there is a real person, story or moment at the centre. that also means working slower sometimes, asking better questions, and accepting that not everything has to be perfect before it can be honest.
